The strength and conditioning intern is responsible for assisting full-time strength and conditioning staff in enhancing the physical and mental development of student-athletes through established training programs that intensify the physical strength and cardiovascular conditioning of the student-athlete.
JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Assists strength and conditioning coach in the implementation of their program for designated varsity athletes.
+ Assists strength and conditioning coach with educating activities as determined.
+ Assists strength and conditioning coach with rehabilitative programs.
+ Assists with the maintenance of all equipment and the enforcement of all rules and regulations.
+ Assists in the testing and evaluation of all student-athletes and maintains appropriate records.
+ Maintains a continuing and thorough knowledge of all applicable University, Departmental, and NCAA rules and regulations and complies with those rules and regulations.
+ Ability to lift 50lbs or more.
+ Must be able to work nights, weekends and certain holidays depending on schedule.
+ Performs special duties as requested by the strength and conditioning coach.
+ Responsible for maintaining compliance and appropriate certification with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, Institutional, and Departmental policies, and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

+ Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
+ Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
+ Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
+ Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
+ Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
+ Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
