The Vehicle Energy Management (VEME) Attribute Lead is responsible for leading the development, execution, and delivery of key VEME attributes (Weight, Fuel Economy, Performance Feel, and Aerodynamics) for Ford Performance vehicle programs. This role involves extensive cross-functional collaboration, target setting, modeling, validation testing, and risk management to ensure that Ford Performance vehicles meet or exceed performance targets while adhering to program milestones. The VEME engineer will also be responsible for identifying and resolving trade-offs between competing attributes, developing roadmaps for improvement, and communicating attribute status to stakeholders.

In this position...
Lead benchmarking, modeling, target setting, development, validation testing, and final signoff execution of the following vehicle energy management attributes: Weight, Fuel Economy, Performance Feel, & Aerodynamics for Ford Performance programs.

You'll have...

Required qualifications:

BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related) with 3+ years of Product Development experience desired. Experience in VEME disciplines desired (Performance, Weight, Fuel Economy, Aerodynamics) and/or attribute delivery experience, PS through Launch. Experience in analytical modeling, system level testing, vehicle level testing and correlation of testing to customer experience. Strong enthusiasm for and knowledge of high-performance vehicles and the customers who purchase them. Excellent written and oral presentation skills required.  Need to be self-starter with ability to deliver results and overcome obstacles. Position will require some travel, occasional extended hours, to complete testing and/or issue resolution.

Desired qualifications:

5+ years of Product Development experience Experience with ATI, PTDAIG or other vehicle data acquisition and analysis systems. Experience with MoSuite, SCVSP, CFD or other vehicle modeling software. CAD knowledge and capability Performance driving experience (drag strip or off-road) and/or credentials within Ford is a plus. (≥Tier II).

What you'll do...
Consolidate and identify all trade-offs and negotiate countermeasures to resolve target conflicts across groups.

Lead roadmap development & execution on any underperforming VEME attributes.  

Manage prototype and project risks.

Provide communication of VEME attribute status to VE/VI and program management to support GPDS milestone declarations.

Work closely with mainstream and core teams to ensure best practices within Ford Performance regarding modeling, test methodology, report outs, process changes, etc.
