Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Construction Foreman oversees all aspects of their assigned project.
The role requires experience in highway maintenance and construction activities, including guardrail installation, permanent signage installation, spray patch crack repair, crack sealing (using hot and/or cold applied products), and bridge deck waterproofing.
Education, Training, Diplomas, and Certifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Class 3 driver’s license with a current driver’s abstract required.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the road construction industry.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in basic equipment maintenance. Familiarity with local general construction specifications and best practices. Experience with HCSS costing software. Knowledge of basic business communication etiquette.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence and professionalism. Sound decision-making and judgment abilities. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Adaptability, flexibility, and problem-solving capabilities. Working Conditions Travel as required. Overtime as required. Use of personal protection equipment is required. Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy. Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to meet all safety requirements. Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended. Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Driving long distances unaccompanied.
