Job Summary
The Batch Plant Foreman is accountable for the crew's meeting production goals, understanding cost reports and projections, tracking material quantities, resolving discrepancies with orders, and efficiently producing high-quality plant-mixed products at the required production rates. He or she is responsible for planning the crew's daily and weekly activities, accurately reporting progress and production, providing updated schedules, and operating multiple batch plant systems.
Essential Functions
Set up, operate, and take down plant as assigned. Operate multiple batch plant systems. Maintain and service equipment assigned to plant operation. Monitor material inventories and coordinate material deliveries. Verify proper input of mix design components for proper mixing of products on a daily basis. Report daily production quantities, material usage, equipment usage and fuel consumption. Operate dust control systems to conform to EPA regulations. Maintain/provide records for plant permit requirements/assure compliance. Maintain plant area in an orderly manner. Maintain a good working relationship with the owner's representative/inspector. Maintain the highest level of safety in all construction activities; enforce all company safety rules and company policy. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor complete workings of batch-type concrete batch plant, including mechanical, electric, and electronic components in proper working condition.Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in ready-mix operations, concrete operations and/or construction industry required Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role required Self-directed, results-oriented, and highly motivated, requiring minimal direct guidance Ability to lead and motivate others; prior experience effectively managing a team preferred Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and work under consistent pressure of deadlines Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented Must be able to work outside 90% of the time and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Experience with Mobile Timecard a plus Bilingual in Spanish preferred Must be capable, licensed, and approved to drive a company pick-up truck or similar vehicle to work sites, offices, and other locations as required to perform job duties Must be able to climb up and down ladders and scaffolding to gain access to work and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the construction siteThis job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.
