The Position Proposition:                                                                                                                     

We have an immediate opening for a Foreman (Service Laterals) in Commerce City, Colorado.

The Foreman is responsible for job site supervision of his/her work crew(s) on a daily basis to complete the scheduled work in a timely and safe manner. This position requires the ability to lead and take responsibility for the successful completion of field operations for the Service Laterals crew within Q3C, Gas Operations. The Foreman must ensure that all work is performed skillfully and efficiently and that work progresses on schedule and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform normal and customary duties associated with Underground operations Responsible for the direct supervision of field crew/employees Involved in pre-job meetings as requested Provide thorough communications for all jobs with the Area Supervisor Responsible for assuring that work crew begins working as soon as they are on the clock Prepare a two-week “look-ahead” for manpower, equipment and tools needed for all jobs; submit to the Area Supervisor every week with timesheets Responsible for assuring that all needed tools and equipment are on hand and in good working order for the crew’s daily tasks Accurately prepare field change memos and daily reports and submit in a timely manner Hold weekly safety “tailgate” meetings with all crew members and complete the necessary paperwork Responsible for maintaining a construction journal on all jobs, recording jobs worked on, conditions of each site (pictures if appropriate), weather conditions, hazard conditions, and any unusual circumstances that occurred while on the job; journal is to be completed and updated daily to ensure accuracy Responsible for the quality of work done on the job, assuring that all work performed by the crew(s) meets or exceeds the customer’s or our Q3 CONTRACTING standards and requirements, whichever is greater Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and that the work adheres to construction schedules Communicate to the Area Supervisor any complaints and grievances with the workforce as needed documenting the problems and resolution; assist in mediating and resolving employee conflicts Accurately record employee time, equipment usage, production quantities, materials and job notes and submit the information in the required timeframe Maintain assigned equipment in good working order and perform field repairs as needed; Coordinate equipment maintenance with the Area Supervisor and notify him/her of breakdowns and required repairs Train and mentor laborers on the crew ensuring their performance is at a consistent Q3 CONTRACTING level Maintain neat and orderly work areas that are secure from unlawful intrusions and also protect the public Communicate and cooperate with the homeowners, business owners and job inspector(s) on job sites. Provide a safe working environment for the crews by following and administering the company safety program Communicate any problems/concerns to the Area Supervisor. Actively communicate with crews and Area Supervisor as required Actively communicate and handle customer complaints to resolution when appropriate Communicate and cooperate with the job inspector, Area Manager, Support Services Group and Safety Manager on job details and requirements Perform other duties as assigned

 

Educational & Minimum Requirements:                                                                                        High School Diploma or Equivalent Some education or training in construction and supervision A valid driver's license with a clean driving history Good basic math, reading and writing skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Critical thinking, problem solving, and precision work skills Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Effective oral and written communication skills Strong leadership skills (three years minimum experience in a leadership role) Five years previous Underground experience Must have strong knowledge, skills and abilities in Underground, both hard and soft surfaces Ability to share expertise with others and continually build their knowledge and skills Respond promptly to customer needs and resolve all issues satisfactorily Ability to focus on solving conflict, not blaming Maintain confidentiality at all times Ability to project labor and equipment needs Ability to build a positive team spirit Inspires respect and trust among the crews Ability to delegate work assignments Demonstrate knowledge of the EEO policy and promote a harassment-free work environment Treat people with respect and uphold the organizational values Follow policies and procedures; complete administrative tasks correctly and on time Ability to consistently meet or exceed productivity standards Ability to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events Good organization skills

Language skills:

English required. Spanish a plus. Ability to read, interpret and implement work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to effectively communicate information to customers, homeowners, and other employees in the organization

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift and/or move 100 pounds Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually, getting in and out of trucks and/or equipment multiple times during the course of the day Standing, walking including and primarily on uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.

Work Environment:

Employee will be subjected to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts Employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electric shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud The employee is frequently exposed to slow- or fast-moving traffic in the work environment.

Other Conditions:

Adhere to all company policies, rules and regulations as stated in the Company Employee Handbook and Safety Manual. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for the state in which the primary work functions are performed.  Be available for occasional weekly shifts of emergency after-hours and emergency weekend on-call duties. Must have a good understanding of Underground concepts and techniques, including project control, planning and resource management Must present a professional image at all times, representing self and company in a professional, courteous and respectful manner when dealing with customers, vendors, employees and the public.   Primoris Gas Operations is a drug-free environment. All positions require participation in federally compliant PHMSA or FMSCA drug and alcohol testing programs. This includes both pre-employment and ongoing random testing.
