THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As part of your responsibilities, you will be reaching out to property owners to provide information about survey programs and conducting necessary inspections of trees or setting traps before commencing activities on private property. Adhering to survey protocols, you will be responsible for placing, maintaining, and removing survey traps. It is essential to promptly collect captured insect specimens from the traps and submit them to the PDA Entomology Laboratory in Harrisburg for identification. Additionally, you will be conducting visual surveillance of symptomatic host plants to detect any signs of target organisms. Following data entry protocols provided by headquarters staff is also crucial. Lastly, you will be conducting site assessments to identify suitable properties for pest treatment or surveys.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Temporary full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ This position is home headquartered if applicant lives in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Pike, Monroe, Carbon, Schuylkill, Northumberland, Montour, Columbia, Wyoming, Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan, or Wayne County.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Any combination of experience and/or training which afforded the applicant the above listed required abilities.
Special Requirement:
+ This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
