AHF Products has an exciting career opportunity for a Forester to be located at our Sawmill in Norton, WV. Reporting to the site manager, the Forester will be responsible for purchasing logs for our sawmill operations.

JOB DUTIES:  

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Develop new relationships with timber and log selling companies Supply sawmill with the quality of logs required at the cost allowed Work within the company’s accounting system to add new vendors Work as a Team member with mill management and other foresters Follow company policies and work in a safe manner. This includes being a safety leader at all times whether at AHF locations or at suppliers operations.  All injuries are preventable and no measure of prevention is unreasonable. Perform any other work-related task deemed necessary by the mill management

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, related field or equivalent experience Previous experience purchasing logs and timber Knowledge of log grades and yields through sawmill operations Ability to extrapolate log values and yields to understand the economic impact to sawmill and downstream operations to make best economic decision Ability to communicate at all levels of organization Ability to travel at all times within region to make site visits and meet with suppliers Proficient computer skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening Positive and Verifiable Work History.

Must be able and willing to work in non-temperature-controlled environment, exposed to weather conditions.
