Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Forklift Coordinator to join our Learning Team based in the Dayton, OH Fulfillment Center. The ideal candidate must have the “knowledge, training, and experience” to train others on how to safely operate powered industrial trucks in the employer’s workplace. The successful candidate will be accountable to train forklift truck operators, organize and administer operator competency tests, issue operator trained certifications, maintain all records of training in accordance with regulated requirements, perform and track audits on forklift trained warehouse associates.
What you'll do:
Train and certify all personnel on safe operation of all equipment, including powered fork equipmentImplement and carry out all OSHA and warehouse rules and regulations related to Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT)Continually add value to training material through comprehensive evaluationContinually implement machine specific training plan and programsFacility auditsEngaging team members to build and maintain safety as part of the cultureAbility to prioritize job tasks and dutiesInstruct, examine and issue certificationCoordinate practical training and testingPrioritize safety and accident preventionPerform Practical applications of PIT trainingInstruct truck familiarization and principles of PIT operationPerform Audits on PIT trained warehouse associatesPerform other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
Minimum 6 months training experience required; forklift training experience preferredProficiency in computer usage, email, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)Understanding of fulfillment/distribution center/warehouse processes and flowWell-developed observational and analytical skillsEffective verbal and written communications skillsStrong skills developing relationships across all levels and functionsAble to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed for 7-day operationProven skills for planning daily/weekly tasks and adapting to competing demandsStrong skills developing relationships across all levels and functions
