Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.
ResponsibilitiesOperate liquefied gas industrial forklift to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently. Participate constructively to the movement and warehousing of products to ensure that customer requirements for superior products are met in the safest and service-oriented manner available.
Operate forklift to load trucksComply with management directives for equitable loading assignment allocationComply with procedures for stock picking, transport, loading and stock rotationLoad truck in a style that provides for maximum logistical efficiency, and in a manner consistent with government regulatory constraints for volume, weight, center of gravity, load integrity, and transportation safetyMaintain stock in designated area ready for loading on trucksMove levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatusPosition forks under units, pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated areaUnload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting deviceLoad or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting deviceMaintain work area in a clean and organized conditionQualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or trainingPossess a current forklift operator’s license, or be able to provide proof of previous forklift operator’s licenseInterpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to operate a hand-held calculatorWrite routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with customers and employees of organizationAbility to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100'sSolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
