Forklift Mechanic ($23.30 - $36.10 DOE)
**Description** **HOT JOB** **Essential Duties** · Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures · Troubleshoot and identify mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical system deficiencies · Utilize schematics to perform maintenance and repairs · Utilize OEM troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures · Perform analysis of major components to include their removal, disassembly or replacement · Keep work area clean and attend to housekeeping matters · Other duties as assigned **Qualifications** · High School diploma or GED equivalent · Two years of forklift repair experience · Above average understanding of hydraulic systems · Must provide own basic tool set to perform the job · Valid AK driver’s license **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** · Must have mechanical aptitude · Basic troubleshooting and diagnostic skills · Working knowledge of forklift and hydraulic equipment design and functionality · Working knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostic skills · Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems · Working knowledge of electrical systems · Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, completes tasks on time or communicates alternate plans · Treats people with respect; keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity and ethically, upholds organizational values · Must have basic understanding of out-of-service conditions · Possess excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and listening skills **Working Environment** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. In addition to using computerized diagnostic equipment, mechanics use a variety of power and machine tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, grinding machines, and welding equipment. Hand tools, including pliers, socket and ratchets, and screwdrivers, are also commonly used.
