Job Description

What you'll be responsible for: 

Operating forklifts and other handling equipment to transport metals and scrap materials to designated areas within the plantLoading and unloading trucks, containers, and railcars, ensuring materials are handled safely and properlySafely maneuvering heavy metal materials, minimizing the risk of accidents or damageOrganizing metal materials by placing them in appropriate storage areas based on type, size, or weightAssisting with unloading incoming scrap deliveries and preparing outgoing shipmentsRegularly inspecting forklifts and other handling equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needsFollowing all plant safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, helmet, and safety bootsCollaborating with supervisors and other staff to maintain an efficient workflow within the plantKeeping work areas clean and free of debris, ensuring a safe and organized work environmentRecording inventory, tracking material movements, and report discrepanciesSupporting the sorting, processing, and recycling activities for metals as neededComplying with environmental guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of materials

Qualifications

To Join Our Team:

You hold a high school diploma or equivalentYou have forklift certification (according to facility or industry standards)You have previous experience as a forklift operator in a manufacturing, warehouse, or recycling environment (preferred)You are knowledgeable about safety standards and protocols in an industrial settingYou are capable of lifting heavy loads and operating machinery for extended periodsYou have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
