Position Purpose:

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating industrial vehicles and equipment to move materials and products within a production or warehouse environment. This role involves loading, unloading, transporting raw materials, finished goods, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Forklift Operator will ensure materials are stored or transported to the appropriate locations and will assist in maintaining the flow of operations in a fast-paced, high-speed environment.

Key Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

Forklift Operation and Material Movement:

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other powered industrial vehicles to move raw materials, full goods, or finished products to designated areas within the warehouse or production facility.

Load and unload materials from designated trailers and route trucks as required.

Transport materials between different areas of the facility, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

Safety and Compliance:

Follow all safety protocols, including maintaining proper temperature monitoring, wearing required face coverings, and adhering to facility safety regulations at all times.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety procedures when operating forklifts and handling materials.

Adhere to the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program, which includes wearing steel-toe boots, puncture-resistant footwear, and other necessary safety gear.

Manual Handling of Materials:

Assist with moving products and materials manually when necessary, especially when they are too small or delicate to be handled by powered equipment.

Inventory Control and Stocking:

Maintain accurate records of materials moved within the facility and assist in the organization of product and material storage areas.

Ensure that goods are stored in the correct locations and in a manner that minimizes damage and maximizes efficiency.

Equipment Maintenance and Care:

Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management immediately.

Housekeeping and Organization:

Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following 5S or equivalent practices.

Ensure that all areas are free from obstacles, ensuring smooth and safe forklift operations.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with warehouse staff and production teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely completion of tasks.

Communicate any delays or issues to team members or supervisors to prevent disruptions in production or distribution.

Additional Responsibilities:

Temperature Monitoring:

Be subject to temperature checks before entering the facility to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Face Covering Requirement:

Wear a face covering at all times while inside the facility to comply with health and safety protocols.

Adherence to Safety Standards:

Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE, including steel-toe boots, at all times when conducting forklift and other warehouse tasks.

Qualifications:Education and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

0 - 3 years of general work experience required.

1+ years of prior experience in a warehouse or stocking role is preferred.

Previous experience in a high-speed industrial or warehouse environment is a plus.

Skills and Knowledge:

Forklift Experience: Prior experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other powered industrial vehicles preferred.

Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to focus on safety, accuracy, and efficiency when handling materials.

Manual Handling: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials manually as needed.

Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting up to [insert weight] lbs and performing physical tasks as required in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Certification:

Forklift Certification: Preferred, but not required. Training may be provided.

Safety Footwear: Required to wear steel-toe boots and meet the CCSWB safety footwear specifications.

Footwear Specifications:

Steel Toe Boots Required:

Minimum 6” height for ankle protection.

Puncture-resistant (Kevlar bottom).

Class 75 protective toe (steel or composite).

Slip-resistant soles that meet the Mark II LS-oily/wet test at .35/higher.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a warehouse or production facility, requiring frequent physical activity and use of industrial machinery.

Workers will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including face coverings, steel-toe boots, and other safety gear.

Work will be performed in varying temperatures, and all employees will be subjected to temperature monitoring before entering the facility.

Additional Information:

Shifts: Available on [insert shift details, such as 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts].

Overtime: May be required based on operational needs.

Work Hours: Mon-Fri 6am - 4pm

Pay Details: $17.00 per hour
