The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport, load and unload from a vehicle, supplies and equipment in the warehouse area, and following all company directives, policies and requirements. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: Follow, perform and fulfill all requirements as documented in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), any policies and procedures as directed following V2X core values of integrity, respect and responsibility. Works with a framework of established supply regulations, policies, and procedures an in the resolution of issues encountered in the process. Follow all prescribed directives as assigned by your supervisor or person in charged. Effectively communicate with all members of the team. Work together as one team to ensure goals are accomplished. Comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and company safety and licensing requirements. Perform all required maintenance, such as before, during, and after operator level and safety equipment preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) as required to ensure all assigned vehicles are in fully operational status. Document and report any necessary repairs and maintenance to your supervisor or person in charge by using Department of the Army (DA) form 2404. Ensure that all required safety equipment is on hand and serviceable and is worn while operating Material Handling Equipment. Ensure that a ground guide (spotter) is present while operating an assigned vehicle. Assist any member in the performance of housekeeping. Ensure that all vehicles are properly dispatched and secured at all times. Performs other duties as assigned per team chief/supervisor or person in charge to meet organizational/operational objectives. Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements. MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Forklifts: electrical and diesel, pallet jack: electrical and manual, carts, electric bay doors and docking plates; government operating vehicle. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as Face Mask, steel toe or compost toe safety shoes, hand, head and eye wear. Computer, phone, MFD printer: fax, scanner WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled warehouse environment, refrigerator and freezer storage units, with frequent exposure outside environment and extreme weather depending on the SSMO mission; physical environment such as exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise; may include overtime, or shift work. Working conditions also includes performing the requirements under certain time and resources constraints; demands for occasional travel, may require other working in difficult surroundings and environment not listed. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Work may require to lifting up to 75lbs, climbing, reaching, bending, kneeling, pulling, or other physical efforts that are normally required. In addition, visual acuity, hearing and speaking requirements would be considered; ground guiding Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Attention to detail, excellent coordination, and great interpersonal and communication skills. Good knowledge of the operation of Material Handling Equipment Valid certification to operate forklifts. Be safety mindful. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to work in a team-based, highly collaborative environment. Capacity to work well under pressure and tight deadlines. Valid State driver’s license. Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty installations. Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, perform with a high degree of accuracy and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Able to lift up to 50lbs. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of progressive related experience, or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. SKILLS: Proficient with the operation of all Material Handling Equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks. Communication and listening, basic computer skills, problem solving, basic mathematics, driving..
