Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely operating electric-powered industrial trucks, including forklifts and elevating platforms, to move, lift, and stack materials and products within the warehouse or manufacturing facility. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This position supports efficient material handling, inventory management, and ensuring proper stock replenishment, contributing to a smooth and productive warehouse operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation & Material Handling:
Safely operate forklifts and elevating platforms to move products, materials, and pallets throughout the facility.
Position lifting devices under, over, or around loads and transport them to designated areas.
Unload and stack materials by using forklifts or other lifting devices, ensuring proper placement.
Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices as necessary.
Replenish stock shelves and organize products based on inventory needs by scanning and confirming product locations.
Inventory Management:
Conduct regular inventory checks on the work floor and stock shelves to ensure products are available for use in production.
Position and weigh pallets according to the inventory system, ensuring all material handling is accurate.
Maintain inventory documentation in compliance with SOPs and accurately record movements of materials.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and all company policies and procedures.
Demonstrate personal responsibility for following safety rules and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Be proactive in identifying safety hazards and take corrective action as necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
Comply with regulatory standards and maintain regular work attendance.
Cross-Training & Flexibility:
Willingness to cross-train and learn job functions in other departments to ensure operational flexibility.
Support other departments as needed, including performing duties in different areas of the facility.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management to support warehouse and manufacturing operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
1-3 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be licensed to operate forklift equipment (Licensing may be obtained through internal or external training).
3 months of experience operating High Reach Fork Lift equipment, with the ability to complete in-house certification.
Ability to write simple correspondence and perform basic mathematical tasks.
Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions in basic English.
Ability to work overtime as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs with assistance.
Able to maneuver a pallet jack with a load of up to 1200 lbs.
Frequent reaching with arms and hands, talking, hearing, walking, and kneeling.
Ability to maintain close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Exposure to powders, chemicals, and allergens (e.g., peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat gluten, soy, fish, shellfish) may be present.
Fast-paced environment with potential for noise and fluctuating temperatures depending on warehouse conditions.
Pay Details: $17.00 per hour
