Astrix is collaborating with a client in the sports nutrition manufacturing sector to identify a dynamic, hands-on R&D Manager to drive innovation in formulation and lab operations. This R&D Manager will coordination with other departments to support, coordinate, and develop innovative nutrition powders and supplement products. **Type:** Direct Hire **Location:** Middlesex County, NJ **Rate:** $90K - $120K **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead the development of new products and enhancement of existing formulations. + Research and source high-quality raw materials. + Expand lab capabilities to analyze raw materials. + Develop testing protocols for key characteristics. + Utilize data to refine formulations and improve manufacturing efficiency. + Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment. + Supervise and mentor lab technicians. + Provide training in formulation techniques and quality control. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product development with company objectives. + Manage R&D project timelines to ensure efficiency and innovation. + Ensure formulations comply with FDA, cGMP, NSF, and other regulatory requirements. + Maintain comprehensive documentation, including formulation records and stability studies. **Qualifications:** + Bachelors or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition/Dietetics, or related field. + 3+ year experience in dietary supplement formulation and R&D. + Knowledge of product development processes, ingredient interactions, and regulatory requirements. + Hands-on experience with solid dose and powder manufacturing equipment. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with ERP software (e.g., Deacom) is a plus. _This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
