Location/Division Specific Information:Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.
How Will You Make an Impact?:You will work within the production laboratory and aseptic dispensing room to produce SensititreTM antimicrobial susceptibility plates. You will ensure H&S and quality standards are met at all times and ensure compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice); and ensure our written procedures are followed. A Day in the Life:
Antimicrobial Solutions Preparation: Weigh, dissolve, and dilute antimicrobial solutions according to procedures and production paperwork.Production Support: Set up and monitor production dispensing pumps, ensuring timely and quality output through pouring, priming, and weight checks.Ancillary Solutions Manufacturing: Produce required solutions such as ID media, buffers, and excipients.Compliance and Equipment Checks: Perform compliance checks on laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including pipettes, balances, and extractors.Stock Management: Maintain and monitor raw material stock levels, including consumables, intermediates, and equipment.Laboratory Support: Wash and autoclave equipment like pumps and glassware, and utilise computer software (SAP ERP, Microsoft Office, custom programs) to process information.Further duties and responsibilities as required and within the ability of the post holder.Education: High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.
