**Job Title: Chemical Mixing Operator** **Job Description** As a Chemical Mixing Operator, your role will involve processing raw materials and chemicals according to a batch record to create the final product. You will use various machines to measure the amount of raw material needed, take samples for lab quality checks, and lift large plastic bags of chemicals using a crane. This is a physical role requiring you to push materials using a large mixing device, climb stairs, and operate computer systems to monitor tank levels. You will also need to follow safety protocols, including wearing a full uniform and respirator mask due to chemical exposure. **Responsibilities** + Process raw materials and chemicals according to batch records. + Use machines to measure the correct amount of raw material. + Take samples for lab quality checks. + Lift large plastic bags of chemicals using a crane. + Sign off on documents to ensure correct material and amount are added. + Push material out of bags using a large mixing device. + Climb stairs to the top of tanks and operate computer systems. + Perform other work-related duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Ability to read batch records and recipes. + Check balances to ensure correct amount of raw material is added. + Measure chemicals of raw material to be added using math skills. + Experience as a machine operator, utility technician, or production technician. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Attention to detail in reporting. + Ability to follow instructions and work independently. + Physical strength to lift or move up to 50 pounds. + High School Diploma or GED. + 1 year of mixing experience. **Why Work Here?** Our family-like atmosphere creates a positive work environment that allows our employees to be high-performers because they feel comfort and compassion from their leaders and team. The Des Moines site has grown immensely over the last five years, adding multiple buildings to the plant while maintaining a family-like culture. **Work Environment** The work environment is a manufacturing and chemical plant, with exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and biological hazards. The dress code includes uniforms, steel-toed boots, and hair nets, and you will be asked to shower after your shift. **Shift/Pay** There are current openings for both morning and afternoon shifts.
