Job Summary:

\n

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst plays a key role in building strategic business partnerships to deliver actionable insights on opportunities for growth, cost-saving initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies. This individual will collaborate closely with business teams to establish and monitor performance indicators that track operational and process improvements. These metrics may encompass business growth, penetration into new products, customers, or markets, as well as contribution to revenue and expenses from these initiatives. Additionally, the FP&A Analyst will be responsible for evaluating capital investments through advanced financial modeling and partnering with department leaders to develop, maintain, and review internal budgets.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

\n\nSupports the annual budgeting process and facilitates monthly and quarterly reforecasts. \nCollaborates with business leaders to determine necessary adjustments and meets budgeting requirements. \nFormulates and maintains clear, accurate, and repeatable forecast models by identifying root causes of prior inaccuracies and monitoring the reliability and predictive validity of existing models. \nInvestigates profit & loss (P&L) performance drivers and variances between forecasts and actual results. \nPresents findings to the Executive Leadership Team in a structured and actionable format. \nCompiles and prepares data-driven reports, charts, and graphs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to communicate business performance.\nDesigns and delivers insightful sales performance reporting tools, including models for Trade Spend Optimization.\nPrepares and maintains reports and analyses focused on key performance indicators (KPIs) tailored to specific stakeholders and business units.\nAddresses issues and identifies solutions to ensure commitments and objectives are met.\nPartners with other departments to perform special financial and business-related studies, preparing analyses as required.\nConducts ad hoc analyses and projects to support business management decisions.\nDevelops models and tools to enable tracking and improvement of financial and operational performance, including cost-saving initiatives.\nEvaluates and implements systems and tools for budgeting, planning, reporting, and analysis.\nAnalyzes capital requests through CIP tracking, ROI analysis, and post-audit reviews.\nMaintains and updates integrated financial models to ensure consistency and accuracy.\nAssist the Finance/Accounting department and other department leads with financial reporting needs as required.\nPerforms other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives. \n\n

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

\n\nExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills with various internal stakeholders and department leads. \nSelf-driven with ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a deadlines-oriented environment.\nThorough understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards. \nSound business acumen and communications skills with the ability to build relationships across various functions and locations.\nPossess exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing workloads, and meeting deadlines. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nContinuous improvement mindset with a passion for automating/standardizing processes.\nProficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) and accounting software such as SAP or other ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems. \n\n


Education & Experience: 

\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. \n3+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or similar role. \nProven experience with profit & loss (P&L’s) and financial modeling is required.\nPrior work experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Food Manufacturing, or Retail is preferred.\nAdvanced skills using MS Excel is required: \n\nAbility to combine and characterize data from multiple sources.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills to properly organize and structure model to efficiently answer the relevant business question.\nExperience using a range of Excel functions (statistical functions, logical functions, pivot, lookup/reference functions, text functions, etc.).\n\n\n\n


Working Conditions:   

\n\nWork is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers.\nThe noise level of the environment is usually moderate.\nSedentary position with seldom to occasional lifting of less than 50 pounds.\nMay require standing less than or equal to 1/3 of the day.\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time. \n\n
