The role Job Summary The FP&A Business Partner will play a critical role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making within SoftwareOne. This individual will partner closely with various business divisions to provide financial insights, analysis, and support. Being a strategic partner and working with the sales team closely is a top priority in this role. The FP&A Business Partner will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, as well as advising on financial strategy and performance improvement. This is a remote role and tech industry experience is a must! Role and Responsibilities Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with business leaders to develop and refine financial plans and forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Budgeting and Forecasting: Own the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals. Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and trend analysis. Develop and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management and key partners. Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to business divisions, offering financial guidance and support on various initiatives and projects. Provide insights into financial performance and assist in finding opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement. Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Support the preparation of financial documents and reports for management and external collaborators. Operational Improvement: Find opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy. Implement standard processes drive continuous improvement in financial planning and analysis activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Sales, Operations, and IT, to gather and analyze data, support cases, and contribute to cross-functional projects. What we need to see from you What you offer Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA is a plus. 5 years or more of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a business partner or advisory role in the tech industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and business leaders on day to day tasks. Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. Sophisticated knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, BI tools). Ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Target compensation for this role will be $110K - $120K USD (mix of base salary and bonus). Actual offers may be higher or lower than this range and will be settled based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) candidates’ qualifications, experience, education, and work location.
