Position Description:

The FP&A Manager will support  the Accounting tasks as well as Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Analysis for Goodyear's  Corporate Functions. Specifically, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the accounting, analyzing, budgeting, consolidating and reporting actual/forecasted costs for Global Communications, Airship Operations, Marketing and other Corporate Support Functions.  Additionally, you will be involved with supporting the capitalization requirements of those functions as well as providing reporting and ad-hoc analysis to senior leaders as required and manage and support the Corporate Functions Financial Analyst.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

Ensure timely/accurate completion of monthly financial planning and analysis (FP&A) deliverables (includes analyzing spend by cost center/account, budgeting/forecasting, performing variance analysis and providing commentary). Ensure timely/accurate completion of monthly financial accounting deliverables (includes gathering support, making journal entries, performing account reconciliations and preparing financial reports).  Provide supervision for and review of, selected account reconciliations and journal entries monthly made by the Financial Analyst. Partner with functional leaders/budget owners - Providing financial guidance (includes providing insights on cost drivers, understanding cost targets and assessing risks or opportunities). Develop process improvements to more efficiently and accurately quantify and communicate the impact of cost drivers. Assist in the consolidation/analysis of annual operating plans (AOPs).  Provide relevant guidance and advise to the functional leaders in the development of AOP’s.

 

Required Experience and Education:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance 7 or more years of experience in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Maintains a high-degree of professionalism with corporate functional leaders - Focused on understanding their issues, building rapport and achieving the desired outcome  Able to analyze and grasp a situation quickly from different perspectives and create well-reasoned solutions People management skills including excellent written/oral communication Self-starter and highly motivated individual who is proactive in identifying issues and resolving conflicts Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Hyperion Planner/SmartView. Develops team members through coaching/feedback on results
