Fpga Design Engineer
Job Title: FPGA Design EngineerJob Description We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with DO-254 experience to join our aerospace team. The ideal candidate will have firsthand experience running through the DO-254 process and will be responsible for meeting with the FAA and other transportation authorities. This position involves exploring high-level concepts within the DO-254 Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware specification and ensuring project approval. Responsibilities + Develop firmware using VHDL. + Participate in the DO-254 Certification Process. + Create verification test-benches to simulate firmware code using Siemens Modelsim/Questa, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent simulation tools. + Design FPGA using tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Intel Quartus, and Synplify. + Perform FPGA timing closure, power estimates, and pin assignments. + Debug hardware and firmware issues using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators. + Work independently on firmware development tasks and seek out necessary information. + Follow established firmware development best practices. + Develop firmware in both Windows and Linux OS environments. + Document moderately complex engineering designs. + Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms. + Organize tasks and manage time effectively. + Work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Essential Skills + Firmware development experience using VHDL. + Experience with the DO-254 Certification Process. + Ability to create verification test-benches using Siemens Modelsim/Questa, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent tools. + FPGA design skills using Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Intel Quartus, and Synplify. + FPGA timing closure, power estimate, and pin assignment skills. + Hardware and firmware debugging experience using test equipment. + Ability to work independently and seek out information to complete tasks. + Adherence to established firmware development best practices. + Experience developing firmware in Windows and Linux environments. + Experience documenting complex engineering designs. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong organizational skills. + Ability to work effectively in a team and multitask. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in design, electrical hardware design, aerospace engineering, aerospace defense, and Siemens NX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $170000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
