Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

KLA is seeking a talented and motivated senior engineer to fill new position within the Electrical Engineering group. Our designs employ cutting edge combination of low noise analog to highly complex digital signal circuits, which are enabling our leading technology in the advancing semiconductor industry.

The candidate will be responsible to provide EE support in architecting Auto-Focus subsystem. The candidate will also be responsible to EE portion of Auto-Focus subsystem.

Main job responsibilities would include:

Responsible for designing the test benches for simulation, timing analysis/closure, FPGA functionality verification

Designing, implementing, and debugging of FPGAs and firmware for embedded sensing and communications systems (cameras, sensors, motors etc.)

Collaborate with the hardware and embedded software engineer to design FPGA Firmware for high-performance mixed-signal systems

Define FPGA Firmware requirement specifications and develop design projects from concept design to production release

Understand and capture the project specifications and performance requirements on board and system level. Adhere to project timelines and deliverables

Write technical documentation that meets the defined quality standards as required

These tasks will require working with other engineering groups such as mechanical, optical, software, systems and manufacturing engineers to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level.

Minimum Qualifications:

Hands on experience with complex FPGA firmware designs

Experience with Xilinx (preferred) or Intel/Altera FPGAs

Proficiency in FPGA simulation tools such as VCS, Modelsim or equivalent

Proficiency in FPGA design tools such as Vivado or equivalent

Proficiency in Hardware description language such as Verilog or System Verilog

Understand FPGA timing analysis and be enable to solve timing related issues

Hands on experience with lab equipment such as logic analyzer, oscilloscope

Solid knowledge of various protocols to interface different peripherals: PCIe, Aurora, DDR4, 10G, SPI,  I2C, etc.

Solid Knowledge of networking and Embedded Linux build systems

The candidate must be motivated, self-driven, independent and to possess excellent oral and written communication skills to successfully collaborate with our accomplished engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 2 years , Master's Level Degree or work experience of 4 years , Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 5 years

Base Pay Range: $134,800.00 - $229,200.00 Annually
