The key responsibilities for this role include providing and interpreting financial information for Indirect Cost, supporting the Business Decision Support (BDS) organization in analyzing and monitoring trends and advising their internal business customers accordingly.
Reporting to a Operations/Finance Manager, this role is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within either the Indirect Cost CoE on key financial systems and models, which include: Hyperion PBF planning tool, Hyperion Workforce planning tool, Sales data warehouse (Oracle/OBIEE) or any other tool that we functionally own within FP&A and Reporting. In this role you will be asked to validate and interpret actuals, prepare and explain forecast and budget data and have the ability to provide commentaries and insight. You will be responsible for delivering the reporting and analysis as part of the various reporting cycles, including Month-End close, budget and reforecasting. This is done in close collaboration with the FD and BC's of the Business Decision Support (BDS) teams. As part of our continuous improvement cycle you drive improvements through projects.
Key Responsibilities of the job include:
• Management reporting for actuals and budgets/forecasts, including variance analysis and commentaries
• Responsible for development and optimizing the financial reporting tools supporting BDS and the Elsevier business
• CoE liaison person for Finance projects within Elsevier delivering process improvements within Finance and Non Finance
community
• Helping ensure that senior management's priority information requirements are delivered and "operationalized" on a timely basis

Global functional reporting lines stay the same (Manila-based team members continue working with non-Manila based members in the same way as before), you are not expected to understand the content of the work of everyone officially reporting to you. Global functional leads (regardless of geographical location) would still be the ones responsible for the performance quality
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related area. At least 3 years of experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis, including providing commentaries.Analytical Skills: Very strong analytical and MS Excel modeling capabilities to provide deep insights and resolve finance inquiries independently. Experience with manipulating large data sets, as well as ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.Self-Starter: Proactive and motivated individual with a can-do mentality, ready to take on challenges in a complex and demanding environment.
