In this position…

The Design and Release Engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, release and implementation. You will also drive for design improvements to increase quality and optimize cost/weight throughout development as well as through the production life of the products. Achieving compliance to requirements (FEDE, SDS, Design Rules, and Regulatory), managing attributes (package, design feasibility, NVH, water management, crash safety) as well as the manufacturing assembly requirements at the assembly plant(s). 

You'll have... 

Minimum

5 years' experience in frames or structures Design and Release Mechanical Engineering BS Excellent communication skills, written verbal.  Ability to lead a team, work with cross-functional group.

What you'll do… 

Design and release Frame, Mounts, Spare Tire Winches, and/or Tow Hooks Engineering Application Design and Release delivery through program milestones.  Absolute focus on delivery of robust designs and failure mode avoidance by applying engineering disciplines including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan and Engineering Specifications.  Responsible for overall design leadership to meet vehicle attributes including package, crash, durability, commercial upfitting, and thermal management  Responsible to lead, review, and approve, Frame Structure designs to ensure delivery to component ES, and vehicle requirements  Responsible to resolve all durability, assembly, and functional issues identified  Coach, technical mentor, and guide peer engineers with regular information exchange through Technical Club forums.  Deliver focused Material Cost Reduction, Warranty reduction, and benchmarking
