JOB SUMMARY
Habit Burger & Grill is looking for a paralegal to join its Legal Department. Reporting to the Chief People & Legal Officer, this role will be responsible for providing legal support in the areas of franchising, contracts, and corporate matters. The ideal candidate for this role will be an effective communicator, detail oriented, collaborates well cross-functionally, and can manage multiple competing priorities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) Preparation and Maintenance Assist in drafting and updating FDD in compliance with federal and state regulations. Ensure timely filing and compliance with disclosure requirements. Franchise Agreement Management Prepare, review, and finalize franchise and related agreements for execution by franchisees in a timely and accurate manner Track agreement expirations, renewals, and terminations. Assist in drafting, revising, and finalizing various types of contracts, including NDAs and vendor agreements. Manage databases to ensure accurate record-keeping of all contracts and related documents. Maintain and update corporate records, including articles of incorporation, bylaws, and amendments. Assist with other legal matters relating to Franchising, Contracts, and Corporate compliance as needed. Coordinate with external counsel as needed.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3+ years of legal experience; relevant in-house and transactional experience strongly preferred Bachelor's degree preferred Completion of a paralegal program with a Paralegal Certificate or Degree in Paralegal Studies preferred Understanding of commercial contracts, franchising, corporate documents, and corporate entity formation Experience in restaurant or retail industry a plus Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion Up to 4 weeks of vacation per year plus additional sick daysCOMPENSATION
Salary Range: $86,300 to $101,400 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.
