Free People is looking for a dynamic and innovative Global Customer Insights Senior Research Analyst.
As a key member of our Consumer Insights Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business by enhancing visibility and identifying new research opportunities. Your work will involve staying up to date on macro-trends while leading and assisting cross-functional research efforts across digital, brand, and category teams. You will uncover the nuances of consumer behavior in the ever-evolving fashion industry and serve as a thought leader in driving business decisions that resonate with our customers.
Role Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
Lead comprehensive market intelligence initiatives by analyzing brand competitors, product offerings, promotions, and macroeconomic trends to uncover critical external market influences.Draft proprietary surveys focusing on products, categories, brand experience, and macro consumer behavioral trends.Oversee technical survey execution, including programming, quality assurance, copy and creative asset coordination, distribution, and monitoring.Synthesize and integrate customer preference data and trend insights from external sources, augmenting internal data to inform decision-making.
Project Support & Management
Support diverse projects aimed at shaping consumer-centric strategies across the organization.Manage customer panel initiatives and develop ideas to maintain engagement and retention.Assist in the launch and management of customer and non-customer panels for the UK and FP Movement, ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals.Expand survey and focus group experiences to improve the breadth and depth of insights. Group moderation or interview experience is a plus.Explore and evaluate potential research partners to enhance current capabilities.
Reporting & Presentation
Create easily digestible presentations that summarize key learnings and recommendations for leadership.Introduce routine insights reporting to ensure continuous visibility into customer trends and behaviors. Role QualificationsDesired Skills & Qualities
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, cognitive science, sociology, or behavioral economics.2-5 years of experience in consumer insights, market research, eCommerce, or CPG.Strong understanding of consumer behavior and curiosity to explore it further.Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in quality assurance.Experience with data visualization and building dashboards (e.g., BI tools such as Tableau or MicroStrategy)Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.Exceptional time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate seamlessly.Optional Skillsets
Experience with or understanding of Qualtrics or similar logic-based survey softwareProficiency in SPSS, SAS, R, or other statistical analysis programsProficiency in SQL or other database management tools
