BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to obtain high quality images to assist in the diagnosis and/or treatment of our patients. Assist the ER physician with patient care and work within the Free Standing Emergency Department

Uses Personal Protective Equipment & utilizes Standard Precautions (former Universal Precautions) when performing tasks presenting the possibility of exposure to blood or body fluids. Supports strategic organizational goals.Specific Job Duties Identifies each patient and reviews each physician order for consistency of exam ordered with clinical diagnosis & all demographic information. Records pertinent data at all times. (Patient History, Explanation of Limited Examination, etc.) Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology & effects of disease process to properly & safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield. Perform EKGs and Point of Care Testing, running and resulting labs along with daily QC. Obtain vital signs and room patients. Document history from patient, answer call lights, assist during cardiac arrest situation, assist patients to/from restroom, start IVs, and stocking of rooms. Transport patients to/from Imaging as needed.
Perform all Imaging needs (CT or general x-ray). Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of support/immobilization devices, & proper transport/transfer technique with regard given to the age of the patient. Reviews each examination for technical accuracy making all of necessary anatomy is included on study. Communicates all pertinent information to patient or person responsible. Dispense appropriate preparations to patients as indicated by departmental protocol and/or physician order. Administers contrast according to department protocols & utilizes power injector for IV contrast administration. Performs IV starts using the appropriate gauge angiocath on patients requiring IV contrast administration. Utilize the 3D workstation to do P.E. studies and or angiography work ordered by physician Explain exams/procedures to patients & address any questions or concerns. Assists with examinations of higher complexity & interventional procedures. Potential for registering patients and patient sitter
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education/Experience
ARRT License ODH Radiographer License Preferred 1 year experienceDesired Qualifications
Preferred CT registered

JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULING
Schedule will be 12 hour shifts. Weekend & Holiday rotation. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. Subject to varying & unpredictable situations Sitting/standing/moving about during working hours Expected to adhere to Hospital Policy & Procedures. Handles Emergency and Other Crisis Situations
