JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News Audio is looking for a Freelance Production Assistant to be part of the fast-paced and growing FOX Audio Network. The Freelance Production Assistant will assist the Podcast Producers in blocking, booking, gathering sound, and assisting in the production of FOX News Audio’s daily and weekly podcasts. In addition to their production duties, the Production Assistant will create social media posts and website write-ups to promote the products.

Select and edit audio clips in a fast-paced environmentWrite scripts to accompany audio clipsWork with editorsCoordinate the programming & platform placement across the FOX News podcast portfolioAssist in producing podcast segments, along with coordinating reporter, talent live remotes, and recordingsManage and keep clear communication with reporters, editors, assignment desk, and anchorsWork closely with a producer on developing stories and new content creationCreate content to populate our social media pages across multiple verticals

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, journalism or communications preferred, or equivalent experienceUnderstanding of the technical and editorial functions of radio and multi-media productionStrong writing and copy-editing skillsStrong digital journalism skills and social media experienceAbility to make the right decisions during breaking news situations as well as during routine shiftsAbility to interact with high-profile talentGreat communication skills, a terrific attitude and works well with a teamCreative and “out of the box” thinkingBasic knowledge of iNews, ENCO, and Adobe Audition is a plusDemonstrated knowledge of current eventsWork in a 24/7 news operation, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work nights, overnights, weekends, and early mornings

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $22.00-22.00 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
