In this role, the individual will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the freezers, including specimen organization/tracking, and specimen disposal in accordance with various regulatory requirements. **What You’ll Work On** + Remove and destroy freezer boxes + Assist in Sample Handling + Receive and open specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysis + Sort specimens into bins and transfer to the departments + Process courier deliveries and store in designated areas + Destruction of specimens and boxes + Inspect all trash bags once sorting process is completed to ensure sample and document removal + Maintain cleanliness of the Warehouse Accessioning area + Assist with freezer cleanout and organization + Review and document acceptability of specimen and chain of custody forms + Adhere to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information + Must comply with company policies **Required Qualifications** + High school or GED + Good driving record **COMPETENCIES:** + Basic ability to understand laboratory technique and procedures + Basic ability to communicate ideas + Basic ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** + Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds + Ability to have full body movement **WORK ENVIRONMENT:** + Climate-controlled office and testing laboratory environment + Must be able to work in a refrigerated and 20-degree freezer area for storing and removing samples + Must be able to climb stairs + May be potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials Apply Now (https://www.jobs.abbott/us/en) **Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:** www.abbottbenefits.com (http://www.abbottbenefits.com/pages/candidate.aspx) Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
