Freight Forwarding Pricing Analyst

The Pricing Associate will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing pricing strategies and financial performance within the freight forwarding and logistics industry. This role combines financial analysis, cost modeling, and market research to ensure competitive, profitable, and efficient pricing decisions across the company’s services. The individual will work closely with the sales, operations, and supply chain teams to deliver accurate pricing, assess cost structures, and support financial forecasting to improve business profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Pricing Strategy Development & Analysis: Develop, implement, and manage pricing strategies for various freight forwarding services, including ocean, air, road, and rail transport. Analyze pricing data from suppliers, competitors, and the market to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that may impact pricing decisions. Optimize pricing models based on cost structures, client contracts, and market conditions to maximize profitability while ensuring competitiveness. Cost and Margin Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of transportation costs, including fuel surcharges, tariffs, handling fees, and third-party vendor rates, to ensure profitability across service lines. Analyze historical pricing and cost performance to identify areas for improvement and recommend actions to optimize profit margins. Assist in establishing cost-plus pricing models, ensuring the company’s pricing covers all direct and indirect costs with an appropriate margin. Financial Modeling & Reporting: Build and maintain financial models to forecast the impact of different pricing structures on overall profitability. Provide regular financial reports to management, analyzing the financial performance of different services and product lines, including revenue, costs, margins, and profit. Develop pricing and financial projections for new business, including potential clients and new service offerings. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Continuously track and evaluate pricing performance and profitability, identifying areas for improvement and making actionable recommendations. Work with senior management to refine pricing strategies based on financial performance, industry conditions, and customer feedback. Conduct regular pricing audits to ensure accuracy and consistency of pricing across all service offerings.
