The Freight Manager is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager of Craft Massachusetts in Everett, MA. The desired schedule is Monday through Friday 10am - 6:30pm on-site. The position manages a team of 5 full time Class A Drivers and is part of the Craft Massachusetts Operations Management Team.

What you will be doing:

Oversee daily operations for internal freight drivers, including routing, scheduling, and sequencing of routes. Determine internal freight rates and ensure accurate billing to partner companies. Uphold safety, productivity, and Finish Product Loss (FPL) standards. Manage and maintain all freight department equipment. Foster effective communication both within and across departments. Handle payroll processing for the Freight Department. Conduct regular performance evaluations for department personnel. Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner. Plan and manage staffing needs for all Freight Department personnel. Ensure timely filing of insurance and accident reports. Maintain all DOT (Department of Transportation) forms and documentation to comply with random audits. Provide backup support for Craft Massachusetts supervisors, managers, and delivery staff as needed. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.      

What we are looking for: 

2+ years of experience in freight management. Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (preferred). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Google Suite and Excel. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Critical Physical Demands:

Manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional stair climbing and walking on hard surfaces. Seasonal exposure to varying temperatures (30°F to 100°F).
