Position Overview:
The Freight Payables Specialist is responsible for Nissan's Freight Payables functions and auditing to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency and accuracy of payments to carriers. The role also includes system administrator functions to assist in coordinating the carrier base, authorized rate application, supplier/dealer master tables, GL table maintenance, and KPI/Reporting processes with the Freight Payables Specialist. The position involves communication with the U.S. Bank team, carrier contacts, RNPO personnel, and addressing supplier inquiries regarding invoices.
Main Responsibilities:
Oversee Freight Payables Department functions to ensure payment accuracy and timely payments to carriers per contract terms.Assist in maintaining business data related to all freight invoice processing, including new carrier setup and general ledger account code master tables.Obtain approval for special moves outside contracted lanes through AETCs or Spot-Buy Exception Logs.Perform auditing and reporting functions for all Nissan Divisions, including:Production/Manufacturing Freight Invoices for Smyrna, Canton, and Decherd Plants.Air Charter and Expedite Freight Invoices.Nissan Export Center.Field Quality Parts Service.Corporate/Headquarters Shipments.NTC-Farmington Hills.Remanufactured Parts Shipments.Processing of weekly Invoice Payments, SAP/Treasury Postings, Intercompany billings, and month-end journal entries.Monitor all freight payment processing to ensure timely and accurate payments.Collaborate with the U.S. Bank team and carriers to train and reconcile all carrier accounts and billing.Interact with Treasury and Accounts Payable to support proper cash flow management.Monitor and execute invoice processing to U.S. Bank for each account – both weekly and monthly.Key Systems/Resources:
