Overview

This position is based at our Norfolk, VA area but will travel to high schools in the Northern Virgina and Western Virginia area.

Culinary Institute of Virginia (CIV), The College of Culinary Arts of ECPI University, offers degrees designed to help prepare graduates to become responsible, respected, and valuable members of the hospitality workforce. Programs offered, including Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, Culinary Nutrition, and Food Service Management, reflect the dynamism and diversity of the food service industry. 

 

The Freshman Admissions Presenter is responsible for professionally representing CIV, both on and off-campus, to prospective students, parents, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. In particular, they will assist high school students learn about our educational opportunities. 

 

Responsibilities Respond to inquiries from prospective students interested in obtaining information about ECPI University and the CIV programs in a professional manner. Schedule interview appointments to determine a prospective student's interests, education/career goals and qualifications; advising as to ECPI University and the CIV programs that will meet their needs. Enroll students into CIV programs in an efficient and supportive manner Schedule and conduct presentations and workshops for High School students. Create partnerships with area high schools by developing and managing relationships with teachers and administrators. Assist in the development and delivery of on-campus events and programs for groups and individuals. Demonstrate a high level of customer service to prospective and existing students Perform within all regulations governing student recruitment.  Travel within market territory Qualifications

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-3 years of successful recruitment experience to include appointment setting and follow-up skills. Experience coordinating programs and events.

 

Skills/Abilities

Advanced presentation technology skills, projectors, tablets, PDAs, etc. Ability to work some evenings and some weekends Ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations through a strong, student-centered ethic Strong interpersonal and written communication skills Strong public speaking and training skills preferred Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software tools
