Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. What you will be doing:
Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel. Check guests in and out of rooms. Input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs. Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management. Promptly answer the phone in a professional and clear manner. Maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank. Other duties as assigned.What we are looking for:
Previous hotel, receptionist, front desk, or related administrative experience strongly preferred. Previous experience with OPERA or other Hospitality Property Management Software strongly preferred. Excellent customer service skills and communication are required. Ability to stand for the entire shift and move throughout the front office to continuously perform essential job functions. Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies. High school diploma or equivalent required.What’s in it for you?
