Job Description

The Design System Developer is responsible for the overall performance of the Design System through applying principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of the Design System. The Design System Developer ensures timely delivery of high-quality components within the release timelines and guidelines.

 

What you will be doing Develop complex code based on functional specifications across teams and programs, complete logic, and algorithm design in alignment with established standardsMaintain and improve codebase data design and best practices including (but not limited to) performance security reliability and deliverability and quality attributesUnderstand and contribute to the architecture of the Design System; create initial implementation standards and guidelines for components that allow teams or programs to begin implementing them based on the technical specificationsPerform complex peer code review and analysis; provide insight on broader impact of software changesOperate as an innovative thought leader and trusted advisor across teams and programs; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing influence of architectural design and coaching on current best practices and market trendsIdentify and articulate the business value and broader impact of software changes to internal and external stakeholders; contribute to the prioritizationDesign, contribute to, and lead the implementation of delivery pipeline including test automation security and performanceCreate development standards to ensure compliance with product and industry practices and regulationsAbility to interview for requirements, plan and deliver independentlyAbility to mentor entry level and mid-level teammates, review PRs and advise accordinglyComfortable discussing and documenting design options and decisions within their team and with software architects.

A passion for systems thinking, reuse, and extensibility.  Experience working on an enterprise grade Design System.Proficient in Angular and RxJS + (the new modern Angular features), and their best practicesSkilled in Javascript fundamentalsSkilled in TypescriptWorking knowledge of HTML and CSSFamiliarity with SCSSDeep knowledge of Design PatternsDeep knowledge of Clean Coding principlesFamiliarity with GITExperienced in writing unit testsFamiliarity with SOLID principlesExperienced in writing integration or acceptance testsDocumentation skills

 

Preferred Competencies

Basic familiarity with Node.jsBasic familiarity with Nx ecosystemBasic familiarity with Github Actions and WorkflowsFamiliarity with Web Accessibility

 

Minimum Qualifications
