Front-End Developer - Driver and Vehicle
Internal Job Title: Front-End Developer Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Job Location: 18 Auriga Drive, Ottawa ON Work Model: Hybrid (On-site 2-3 days/week) Position Summary As a Front-End Developer in the Driver & Vehicle group, you will play a crucial role in our newly formed Secure Image Management Systems (SIMS) DevOps Product Team. In this role you will work collaboratively with other Product Team members to develop a user friendly front-end for our new cloud-based SIMS application. Responsibilities + Develop responsive and interactive web applications + Collaborate with designers to translate visual concepts into functional code + Optimize website performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility + Implement and maintain content management systems + Debug and troubleshoot front-end issues + Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code adhering to best practices + Work with back-end developers to integrate UI components with APIs and databases + Conduct testing and validation of web forms and interactive elements + Stay updated with the latest front-end technologies and industry trends Qualifications Knowledge and Experience + Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience + Knowledge of the following: + Web performance optimization + UI/UX principles + Responsive design principles + Micro-frontend frameworks + Composable web UIs + Asynchronous programming + DevOps and CI/CD practices + Agile development practices + Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure + 4+ years of web front-end development experience Technologies + Languages: HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, Typescript + Frameworks: Angular + Web technologies: REST, WebSocket, JSON + Unit testing Tools: Jest, Mocha Nice to Have: + Frameworks: React, Vue.js + Test Automation Tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress Soft Skills and Abilities + Analytical/problem-solving skills + Interpersonal skills + Teamwork and collaboration + Self-directed Mandatory Requirements + Fluency in English + Ability to work on-site as required Security Clearance Requirements + Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) personal security clearance.
