**Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position**
The Front Office Administrator ensures timely scheduling of patients, verification of patient's insurance eligibility and benefits prior to their appointment, updating these benefits within our practice management software, and communicating with fellow staff members regarding patient eligibility and benefits. This role follows policies and procedures, acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the Outpatient Wound Care department.
**Essential Job Functions**
• Adheres to and promotes departmental plans, goals, and objectives in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, regulatory and Joint Commission for Accreditation of Hospital Operations.
• Assists in collaboration with the Physicians and Clinical Staff to provide appropriate wound service coverage in the center.
• Assists clinical leadership to monitoring clinic flow to improve efficiencies and productivity.
• Works with hospital personnel to ensure availability of adequate resources, supplies, equipment, and services.
• Encourages collaboration of the wound center with other departments.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationship working with physicians and all wound center staff.
• Good working relationship with Ensemble in a dyad team. Works collaboratively with hospital partners, as appropriate to maintain fiscal objective seek opportunities for cost saving measures • Working knowledge and awareness of revenue cycle components including scheduling, registration, clinical coverage/treatment, documentation, billing, collections, and denials. • Assists leadership to perform auditing to ensure documentation supports reimbursement.

**Licensing/Certification**
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred)
**Education**
HS/GED (required)
Associate Degree related to Business (preferred)
**Work Experience**
Recent experience in acute care, home health, and/or provider office (required)
Experience working in Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Outpatient Center (preferred)
**Training**
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
Continued professional development specific to patient registration, scheduling and referrals.

Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills at all levels
Aware of role related to patient and guest impressions
Working knowledge of office and clinical technologies
Effective phone management to include answering and routing of calls, placing patient reminder calls, scheduling, and rescheduling of patient appointments, voice mail retrieval, etc.
Knowledge of health insurance, Medicaid/Medicare.
Ability to answer patient questions regarding their insurance benefits related to treatment as well as billing questions.
Updates patient demographic documentation in the electronic medical record
Patient scheduling for treatment and scheduling patient transportation as needed
Running estimates, cash collection and cash drawer closure process.
