As a Global Supplier Manager (GSM) at Micron, you will have the unique chance to lead a large strategic supplier or suppliers, contributing to Micron's world-class memory and storage solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with team members across multiple categories to ensure high-quality supplier support when providing goods and services. Your expertise will be crucial in driving supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management

Participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliersLead cross-category and significant company-to-company escalations; support category escalations for assigned suppliers as neededServe as the center of knowledge for assigned supplier(s) and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and executionPartner with the category team and collaborators to build comprehensive view of supplier performanceCommunicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization, including Executive Leadership

Cost Management & Analysis

Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue leversDrive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targetsProvide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal partnersApply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

Negotiation

Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plansLead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etcLead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiationIncorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiationsDevelop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and build, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions

Business Partnering

Collaborate with Partners to Deliver Strategic SolutionsDevelop and maintain expertise in the assigned supplier(s) through relationships with Category Director, Global Category Managers, and Category Supplier ManagersDrive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement processesA relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing.Strong negotiating and analytical skills.Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals involved.Advanced skills in material cost structure understanding and analysis
