The Team and the opportunity

 

Our Finance Transformation team delivers globally integrated Finance service offerings to our clients. Our Finance team assists clients in building Finance functions that are business-focused, cost-effective and agile in meeting the needs of all their stakeholders. 

These offerings include:

Agile Business Finance – Delivering an optimised Finance function by ensuring a collaborative alignment between Finance, Business and Technology to build an Innovation-led Finance function to help empower teams, enhance capabilities and realise benefits faster. Value and Performance Management – Enabling Finance functions to identify and deliver sustainable long-term value through optimised planning, reporting and analytics. Global Business Services – Developing high performing operating models through process simplification, standardisation and leveraging enabling technologies. Finance Strategy and Operating Model – Development of a digital finance vision; target operating model; case for change, benefits realisation and transformation roadmap.

Key to many of our Finance Transformation engagements is the identification, evaluation and deployment of the right technology to support our clients’ business agenda. In particular, this involves intertwining our Finance and Shared Services portfolio with other offerings like cyber security, analytics, RPA and digital technologies.

We are seeking an experienced insurance consulting professional who will drive the continued growth of our Finance Transformation services in Ireland – both by developing a portfolio of business built on valued relationships with external clients and growing an EY team with specialised skills in this area to meet our clients’ needs.

Your key responsibilities

 

We are looking for a person with deep Insurance and Finance domain experience, with a proven track record in transformation projects and team leadership experience, client relationship management excellence, communication, and business acumen as well as passion for innovation, building high performing teams and culture of trust, respect, and diversity. 

 

Client responsibilities:

 

Manage or support engagements with our clients and provide high quality consulting services to a portfolio of clients. Understand EY’s service offerings and actively support in identifying opportunities to better serve clients across our range of services Develop and maintain long term client relationships and networks including the development of relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs

 

Assist on business development opportunities and support client proposal development efforts. Manage innovation in processes and systems, leveraging technology to enhance client performance.

 

 

Practice and people development responsibilities:

 

Manage and lead diverse teams with varying skillsets. Adapt your leadership style to fit team, client, and their cultural needs.   Contribute to expanding our brand in the market by attending relevant events, collaborating with other internal teams, facilitating thought leadership, etc. Engage in business development activities including client presentations and proposals  Foster a supportive, inclusive and growth team-oriented work culture.

Skills and attributes for success

Demonstrated expertise in IFRS17 & Solvency II Excellent client relationship management skills, gained through prior consulting roles or within large financial services organisations Proven track record in management and leadership roles in Insurance or Finance transformation projects and engagements in consulting industry Understanding of finance processes, finance technologies, operating models and ability to develop strategic finance and IT relationships with C-suite decisions makers. Minimum of 5-8 years in delivering insurance services or finance transformation programmes, with demonstrated experience of applying methodologies such as Prince2/ PMP/Agile. 

 

An accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) applied in a financial institution would be beneficial

 

Understanding of Insurance trends and implications on the Financial Services industry. Experience of delivering change through multi-disciplinary stakeholders and collaborating across jurisdictions.

 

Strong communications skills, with experience of managing strategy material and presenting to key stakeholders. Excellent Stakeholder management skills with a track record in managing complex stakeholder programmes Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise and develop others, effectively communicate, manage budgets, timelines, and plans, manage client expectations, deliver quality projects.
