Strategy Associate for Financial and Strategic Investors Group (FSIG)

Financial and Strategic Investors Group (FSIG) is the platform comprised of the independently managed and distinct Financial Markets Advisory (FMA), Global Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Official Institutions Group (OIG) businesses. In partnership with product and regional client teams, FSIG develops the firm’s relationships with insurers, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and other sophisticated asset owners across the world.

Role Description:

We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Associate excited to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment supporting the Global Head of FSIG. The candidate will partner with the Global Head of FSIG’s Chief of Staff to provide strategic and operational support to the Global Head of FSIG. Responsibilities will require preparation for internal and external meetings, persuasive research and project execution of strategic priorities, prioritization of engagements and writing skills, and the ability to handle multiple interrelated projects in collaboration with senior business leaders.

Given the broad range of projects and collegial business culture, the candidate should feel comfortable working with teams and engaging across functional areas. The ideal candidate is resourceful, dynamic, and intellectually curious with strong problem-solving, communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple deliverables across a variety of topics.

Primary responsibilities will include:

Direct support for the Global Head of FSIG and the Chief of Staff to FSIG on internal and external meeting preparation, strategic project execution, and analysis, including quantitative analyses and qualitative researchAssist in managing inquiries on behalf of the Global Head of FSIG, including managing preparation and follow-ups from FSIG ExCo, drafting C-level presentations, talking points, and briefing memos for external and internal conferences/meetingsServe as a thought partner and “proxy” in managing inquiries on behalf of the Global Head of FSIG, including managing meeting preparation and follow-ups, drafting C-level presentations, talking points, and briefing memos for external and internal conferences/meetingsDeveloping and managing the engagement briefing process, including partnering with BlackRock senior leadership and staff, client teams, investment teams, and other internal stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities and track follow-up itemsAssist in execution of execution of special projects initiated by the Global Head of FSIG in areas including client strategy, investor summits, transition finance, internal communications, and organizational strategy

Experience/Qualifications:

2+ years of relevant investment industry experience with a track record of  outstanding achievementsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail and ability to learn new content quicklyDemonstrated project management skills, including ability to organize and coordinate project execution, drive problem solving and content developmentAn ambitious spirit, that is willing to pursue additional responsibility, with the ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-intensity environmentSuperior interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear messages for senior audiencesFluency in Standard MS Office tools incl. Excel and PowerPoint.High degree of professional discretion, integrity, and discernmentFour-year degree in Finance, Economics, or related field


For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$105,000.00 - USD$137,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
