Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life: Lead the pre-operational inspection program at Cartwright. Lead the execution of site environmental program (EMP). Prepare LIMS labels and conduct swabbing, as necessary. Perform microbiological and analytical sampling for product and environment as required. Assist with construction activities and planning of environmental monitoring. Perform daily monitoring and verification tasks as outlined in the HACCP program and recommend corrective actions for deviations. Participate in prerequisite monitoring and reassessment inspections as per MLF specific requirement. Maintain and coordinate verification and changes to SOPs in SharePoint and SAP. Participate in deviation investigation, RCA, CAPA, FSRA and draft responses for customer and consumer complaints. Coordinate FSQA document management (SOP's, training material, policies, etc). Lead, support and/or deliver site FSQA training program. Support and/or coordinate equipment calibrations (MDs, thermometers, data tracers, etc.). Coordinate and ensure proper execution of Hold and Release program. Participate in annual HACCP review and reassessment with cross functional team and update the program accordingly. Provide support and coaching to employees and production management to maintain and improve facility QA practices and procedures. Prepare sensory samples and participates in sensory evaluations. Participate in projects and meetings with the goal of improving food safety and food quality. Provide back up support to FSQA where required Perform other duties as assigned. What You’ll Bring: University degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline. 2 to 3 years of experience in a technical role at a food manufacturing facility. Proven ability to analyze data and provide recommendations. Strong interpersonal skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Superior systems skills (including MS Office). Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail. Willingness to learn and teach others. Understanding of HACCP/HACCP Certification. Proven alignment to the Maple Leaf Leadership Values.
