Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in the food or associated industry, actively working in quality assurance or food safety functions within production, manufacturing, retail, food safety auditing, or inspection. Food safety or quality consultancy experience may count toward 6 months of the work experience requirement, provided the number of man-days is equivalent to the work duration.
Education:
A degree in a food-related or bioscience discipline or completion of a food-related or bioscience higher education course.
Training (All trainings must include an exam):
Lead Auditor Course for FSMS or QMS – minimum 40 hours. ISO 22000 Standard (current version) – minimum 8 hours (if not covered in the Lead Auditor Course). Food Defense Training – minimum 2 hours, covering food defense threat assessment methodology and mitigation measures. Food Fraud Training – minimum 2 hours, covering food fraud vulnerability assessment methodology and mitigation measures. FSSC 22000 Scheme Requirements – covering Parts 1-4 and Annexes 1, 2, and 5. Accreditation Requirements Training – related to ISO 22003-1:2022 and ISO/IEC 17021-1, as applicable to CB auditing processes. Relevant PRP Standard Training – minimum 3 hours per PRP standard.
Other Requirements:
a) Audit Experience:
Minimum of 10 audit days, including at least 5 third-party food safety audits covering FSMS, HACCP, and PRP requirements. At least 2 FSSC 22000 audits under supervision of a qualified auditor, and 1 FSSC 22000 witness audit. If moving from another CB, only the witness audit is required.
b) Category I (Packaging):
Primary qualification in packaging technology (degree or certificate) and a relevant certificate in food technology, food hygiene, or a related science. Alternatively, a primary qualification in food technology, food safety/hygiene, or a related science subject, plus a 30-hour training course in packaging technology (certified by WPO Packaging). The packaging training must include topics such as: i. Basics of packaging principles and concepts; ii. Packaging legislation, standards, and regulations; iii. Packaging materials manufacturing; iv. Specifics of food/feed product packaging; v. Quality/food safety control and testing; vi. Printing processes and inks; vii. Packaging recycling; viii. Design of packaging materials.
