Role Purpose

The purpose of this job is to promote safety compliance within SAPPREF by field assurance and coaching of employees and service providers carrying out work at SAPREF sites. 

Key Accountabilities/Objectives:

Have an integrated and independent view on the level of operational risk ‘carried’ by the zone Review planned Operational activities with zone OMC & TL (risk awareness and assessment) – focus online identification, isolation lists, RDP, implementation of PCRs. Review planned Maintenance activities with Clearance Issuer / Receiver and Operator Challenge whether alternatives are available to eliminate or reduce risk and/or proposed method/procedure is ALARP (broaden the risk thinking) Coach and support the practitioners, intervening as needed Review quality of the procedure for the proposed work to ensure that the operational                            controls are fit for purpose for the chosen solution (independent test of proposed operational controls) Coach Panel men and operators in the field: review job preparation and execution (sample) & challenge ‘normalised’ practices Coach Operations and Maintenance teams on assurance protocols for Isolation, PTW etc and   audit the quality of assurances carried out.
