Fuel Maintenance Manager
Overview

The Fuel Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning and oversight of all fuel system maintenance activities within their assigned locations. This includes the coordination of reactionary maintenance, preventative maintenance, and special projects as needed.

This position sits in our Pearland, Texas office Mon - Fri. This is an in-office opportunity only.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Identify current and future fuel system maintenance needs

Collaborate with management and support staff to develop scope of work, request quotes, identify the appropriate contractor, schedule and oversee repairs, and follow up on contractor performance

Perform periodic walk-through inspections of fuel system equipment to ensure operability and reliability standards are met and to identify additional maintenance needs

Manage the work of assigned Buc-ee’s Fuel System Technicians

Provide direct oversight of third-party service technicians in the field and ensure repairs are performed in a cost-effective manner

Identify cost saving strategies by compiling and evaluating maintenance tracking system data and other available information, and provide recommendations to the Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety for reducing overall maintenance costs

Thoroughly review and approve invoices from third-party contractors (under the current capital expenditure threshold) to ensure costs are necessary, appropriate, and in line with the scope of work and/or established service level agreements

Track open fuel maintenance work orders to ensure repairs are completed on time

Maintain effective relationships with contractors; conduct evaluations of contractor performance and identify and communicate necessary improvements

Work directly with Operations to identify the training needs of store maintenance personnel in performing routine fuel system repairs and coordinate necessary training

Identify new and emerging fuel system technologies and tools which will heighten technical performance, improve the customer experience, reduce costs, or increase reliability

It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technology, business, or math preferred, but not required

Minimum of five years of relevant fuel system maintenance or fuel system construction experience in the retail market

Significant technical understanding of common fuel dispensers, Veeder Root automatic tank gauges, and associated equipment

Most possess excellent management and organizational skills

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
