Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Fuels Technician at the Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta, GA.
  
The ideal candidate would, under the daily supervision of the Fuel Tech Supervisor with assistance as needed from the Facility Manager, be responsible for safe and timely set-up, monitoring and transfer of fuel movements during a specific shift assignment and ensure through definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, contributing to a safe and efficient operation.

What You’ll Do:

Perform receipt, issue, storage, spill cleanup, maintenance scheduling, hazardous waste, and fuel quality assurance operationsPerform the full spectrum of quality assurance sampling and testing as may be required, to include weekend and holiday fuel support to meet ATA 103 and ASTM D-1655, latest revisionSample petroleum handling equipment and systems by various methods and means, from receipt to product issuePerform operation, maintenance, and calibration of lab equipment, recordkeeping, and lab safety proceduresInspect, evaluate condition of, and maintain fuel storage tanks, pipelines, piping systems, product pump, filter, meter, gauge, and flow control mechanisms, and other petroleum system components Detect system malfunction/misalignment/leaks/adjustment issues, and perform scheduled and unscheduled system maintenanceRemove, repair, and replace system componentsComplete all assignments directed by Management in a safe, efficient, and timely manner as required by Company rules and regulations and all Federal, State, and local lawsIndividuals may perform other duties as assigned, notwithstanding work in other functional areas to cover absences and relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workloadDuties include wearing an Air Purifying Respirator. Under OSHA 1910.134, employees being fit tested for, and using, respirators must be clean shaven to ensure no obstruction of respirator seal to keep you safe while performing your dutiesUses all equipment, tools, materials, and supplies safelyPerforms other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

18+ years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalentPossess and maintain a valid Driver’s LicenseAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularlyAbility to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of timePossess good oral and written communication skillsWillingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtimeAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsPossess practical experience in operation of bulk fuel distribution systems and pipeline operationsExperienced in use of common fuel sampling equipment, aviation, and ground fuel sampling procedures, and conducting laboratory tests of petroleum products Trained in applicable regulations regarding petroleum handling equipment and systemsHave a knowledge of automated tank gauging systems, high/low level alarms, and cathodic protection systemsSuccessful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenComply with Company Drug and Alcohol PolicyMust be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite at the Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta, GA.

Compensation 

Expected Salary: $17.00/hr – 19.50/hr
