Full Stack Developer
Overview Job Purpose ICE Data Services (an Intercontinental Exchange company) is seeking strong candidates to join its Data Impact & Innovation team. This team supports a variety of reference data, index, sustainable finance, and alternative data products. This role presents a unique opportunity to support innovative big data applications and new products aimed at helping the financial sector respond to the interrelated crises of climate change and widening socioeconomic inequality. Responsibilities Build completely new web-based UI applications that allow clients to visualize Environmental-Social-Governance (ESG) metrics that are geospatially representative of fixed income and real estate financial instruments. Use the latest front-end frameworks for building crisp and clear visualizations Design and implement data modeling and transformation sufficient to support API endpoints for front-end visualizations Hands-on execution of all stages of the development lifecycle, from rapid prototyping, to iterative refinement based on user feedback, to testing remediation and release. Support integration and enhancement of existing web applications that allow a single coherent exploration and analysis of multiple ESG datasets and methodologies across different financial asset classes Be able to lead an effort to design, architect and write new software components. Be able to independently handle project activities related to builds and deployments. Be able to create software tests, verify the functionality and quality of the software. Identify opportunities to improve and optimize applications. Work with business analysts or product management in understanding new requirements. Provide second-tier production support for 24/7 applications. Knowledge and Experience Candidates should have experience in most of the following areas: JavaScript technologies like React and TypeScript Python web backend frameworks (particularly FastAPI and Django) Relational databases and other analytical tools that use SQL as a data manipulation language (e.g. Google BigQuery) Core knowledge of fundamental web protocols and standards (HTML5, HTTP, CORS, cookies and session management, etc) Cloud computing and infrastructure, especially Google Cloud Platform Geospatial data and mapping tools like Mapbox, Leaflet, and PostGIS Candidates should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, in order to collaborate effectively with in-person and remote technical colleagues, business stakeholders, and client end-users to brainstorm tradeoffs and timelines. Schedule This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week. New York Base Salary Range The expected base salary for this role if located in New York City is between 113,339 - 137,102 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
