Full-Time, Teaching-Track Faculty Positions in Physical Education

The Department of Physical Education & Mind Body Health in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California provides a variety of opportunities for students to improve their general health and fitness through fitness and wellness activities and classroom lecture classes.

We are seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time lecturer or instructor position for the 2024-2025 academic year. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Recreation, or related fields, possess certifications in related fitness areas, and have demonstrated excellence in teaching a variety of fitness courses.

Under the guidance of the Director of Physical Education & Mind Body Health, the primary responsibilities will include instruction of both activity-based fitness and classroom lecture courses. Our pedagogy philosophy is to make an impact on students’ overall wellbeing through teaching and building community, through a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in any of the following:

Physical EducationExercise ScienceRecreational Sport/AdministrationEducation (with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of Exercise or Adaptive Physical Education)

Bachelor's Degree in any of the following:

Any Life Science DancePhysiologyHealth Education Recreational SportsPhysical Therapy or the equivalent

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Prior teaching experience in college-level courses and/or training certifications in the domains of wellness, health, and fitness. Participation in relevant committees, student outreach programs, and professional organizations are strongly encouraged.

The annual base salary range for this position is $74,000 - $77,500.
