Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant football coach is to support the Head Coach in the planning, organization, and administration of the football program. To coach a specific position as assigned by the Head Football Coach.
● Adhere to all NCAA , conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules
● Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing withstudent-athletes
● Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community
● At all times promote the Football program in a positive way
● Recruiting (30%)
o Corresponding via mailings, phone calls and emails
o Support recruit visitso Attending off campus recruiting events
o Working with admissions office to recruit student athletes
o Organize and Facilitate Schedules/Logistics of all Official Visits
o Monitor and Direct the staff on proper usage of Teamworks Software
● Football Team Management Support (50%)
o Specific position practice plans and execution
o Assist in practice planning, organization, and on-the-field coaching
o Assist in game preparations including film breakdown and review
o Game day duties
o Help supervise the team during away contests
o Organize and participate in fund-raising activities
o Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student-athletes
● Game Management & other administrative tasks as assigned by department (20%)
● Yearly NCAA rules test
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required. Football knowledge required and playing experience desired.
Competencies / Skills:
Ability to demonstrate football related skills, interpersonal skills between students, staff, alumni and friends of the University.
Supervision of Employees:
None
Work Hours:
Schedule varies depending on if in-season or out-of-season. The ability to work nights and weekends required to support practices, games and recruiting events.
