FlexStaff is seeking an experienced RN to work for one of our external clients, a community services non-profit organization serving people with developmental disabilities for their outpatient clinic, located in Brooklyn, NY.
This is a permanent, full-time job. This is a permanent, full-time job. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-4:30pm, 35hrs/week, no holidays, no weekends.
In this role you will be responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis and therapeutic intervention.
An ideal candidate would be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing and have at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse with individuals with developmental disabilities in a community-based health services setting.
Required License/certification:
+ Valid New York State Driver's License is preferred
+ License and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
+ CPR
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
+ Arranges medical services for persons served and issues medical referrals as needed.
+ Provides follow-up on medical problems for persons served.
+ Conducts training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, signs and symptoms of illness and other in-services as may be necessary to meet needs of persons served.
+ Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment, reporting to consulting physician and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures and staff training in regard to infection control.
+ Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each division.
+ Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
+ Provides immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician.
+ Participates in routine individual case reviews.
+ Prepares and maintains medical documentation on each person served
+ Administers medications when appropriate, and supervises certified staff in administration. Supervises storage of medications.
+ Provides supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and/or less experienced Registered Nurses during their tenure at agency.

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g. location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $55-$60/hour
