The Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences of Quinnipiac University seeks highly qualified applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching for a one-year visiting faculty position in Physics, with a start date of the Fall 2025 semester. This position is benefits-eligible.

Responsibilities:
+ Teach on-ground introductory physics courses including PHY101 (Elements of Physics), PHY110 (General Physics I) and PHY111 (General Physics II).
+ Prepare and deliver lectures and engaging class activities.
+ Compile, administer, and grade assignments/examinations.
+ Hold a minimum of 4 regularly scheduled office hours each week.
+ Manage courses and grades through Blackboard.
Education Requirements:
+ Ph.D. in Physics (or closely related field) is required at time of appointment to be hired at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. Candidates who are ABD with potential for high-quality teaching are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a master’s degree in Physics (or closely related field) are eligible to be hired at the rank of Visiting Instructor.
Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level.
+ Experience in the use of instructional technologies, especially Blackboard.
+ Commitment and ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community, the department, and the College of Arts & Sciences
